Update on Leo (October 2016):
Hi Cindy,
I hope all is well. Ã I'm glad Suzi has been sending along Leo updates.
à Here's a few more pics. à One of Leo hanging out in the back yard at
Grandma & Grandpa's house (he loves to visit them, and they love it when he
visits) and another of Leo helping make the bed. Ã Right now, we're working
fencing in a big section of the yard (a birthday present of sorts) so that
Leo can have his friends over to play with less worry about them going too
far, and maybe he can get an adopted sibling in the future. Ã
Leo wishes all his litter mates a very happy birthday, and sends you his
love.
Thanks so much, again, for helping Leo become part of our family!

...and another update...

Hi Cindy,
Most welcome. We always like sharing Leo's exploits, especially with his
foster mom! We're so very glad that he found his way to you, and then to
us. We needed him in our lives, and he needed a furever home and picked us
to be his people. It's so wonderful that he did!
He's such a good and fun boy. One of these days, I need to record a video
of him running. It's almost like he's got some greyhound in his lineage.
I've never seen a faster dog. But then he gets tuckered out and likes a
nice rest, preferably using one of his people as a pillow.
Those "dachsadors" are adorable! We're not quite ready yet. After not
hearing from the fence contractor for some time, he finally texted me back
to tell me that he hopes to finish our estimate by sometime next week.
Hopefully he does. It will be great to have our yard as a play area for Leo
and his buddies.
Have a great night,
Carl, Suzi, Liana, and Leo

Update on Leo (formerly Sugar Ray) (July 2015): Leo's family wrote to tell us both sad and happy news. Last week, after a battle with cancer, Leo's big brother Kansas passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Kansas went to the Rainbow Bridge after having been an amazing influence in Leo's life. Shortly after Kansas' passing, Leo took the plunge and went swimming for the first time. No doubt, big brother Kansas is looking down proudly on his little brother. We send our deepest sympathies to Leo's family for their loss. We know Kansas will be remembered with love & warm thoughts by all, including his little brother. And we are glad Leo is there to bring joy and comfort to his family.

Hi Cindy!
I just wanted to give you a Leo update & send some pics. He became part of
the family right away and he's making himself quite at home. We have a
little more work to do on house training, but it's going quite well. He and
Kansas are getting along very well, too. They've been playing a lot when we
go out for walks.
Leo always wants to be right with us. He'll dive right on your lap or flop
over on your feet so you know he wants some love. He's very well-mannered
when it comes to (our) food, too. He's definitely interested, but not
overly.
He hasn't quite gotten the concept of playing with us and a ball yet, but he
has started throwing a ball on his own and then going to get it. Sometimes
he'll grab one and bring it up a little hill, then let it roll down the hill
and chase it.
Leo's a fun, sweet, loving little pup. Just like we thought when we met him
the first time!
Thanks so much for helping us make him a part of our family!
Carl, Suzi, Liana, Kansas, and Leo
