BELLA HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING. WE WILL NOT BE PROCESSING ANY ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS FOR HER.
Meet Miss Bella!
Bella is a gorgeous 10-month old lab mix who weighs in at about 45 lbs. She and her brother Tyson came to us from North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. These youngsters had been confined to a 10’ x 10’ kennel with several other siblings and did not know what it was to either be in a home or be out and about like a normal dog. All that is behind them now, however, and they are learning and adjusting to their new world quickly and with glee!!
As for Miss Bella, she is actually a confident girl and very curious. She, like any young lab, is very active. She is being fostered in a home with other dogs & LOVES to play. She is also just fine with cats. She is definitely a “velcro dog.” This girl wants to be with her person & close to her person – and, so, we are seeking a home where the family is wanting a velcro dog and would include her in everyday life and lots of activities. She is hungry for people-attention – so, we are seeking a family who will welcome that trait/bond.
Bella has been doing lots of learning at her foster home. Her manners are a work in progress – and she will need a family who will be patient and understanding, but who will also be willing to correct her. She is learning every day, but her forever family will need to keep working with her and reinforcing/establishing proper boundaries.
In terms of leash walking, she is doing well. She still will pull some, but overall she is doing very well. She is also doing well with her potty training – accidents are very few now that she has a routine. But, her family will need to establish their own, new routine and therefore will need to be vigilant to reinforce & further the great progress Bella has already made.
Given Bella’s activity level, we are seeking a home with a physically fenced yard, or an adopter who will demonstrate the commitment to providing Bella with the exercise & stimulation that she needs. We are also seeking a home without young children, as she can jump up (and still needs to learn not to do so). We also think she would do great either with another dog as a buddy/playmate or as a solo dog (so long as her family engages her in play and give her lots of one-on-one time).
Bella has an exceptionally sweet personality and will be a fantastic companion to a family who is willing to give her the time and attention that she craves (and so deserves).
If you have the time, willingness and ability to provide a loving, nurturing home to Bella for her whole life, we’d love to hear from you. To pursue adoption, you will need to register on www.safeatlast.net. When you receive your password, please log back on to complete the Safe at Last online adoption application. Once we have your application, if we feel your home is a good match, we will contact you by email to schedule the phone interview to commence the review process. Our process is very straightforward but does involve the phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment. An adoption fee of $425 also applies.
Please be advised that you cannot meet Bella until you have been approved to adopt. We cannot consider you until you have submitted the completed Safe at Last online adoption application. Delay in submitting your application will put you at a disadvantage to other potentially qualified applicants.
Finally, Bella is being fostered in Preston Hollow, NY (Schoharie County). Approved adopters are required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption. Adopters are also required to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols (including mask).
Thank you for wanting to open your heart and home to sweet Bella.
