Meet Izzy!!  Our best assessment (NO GUARANTEE) is that that Izzy is an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix, and she is about one year old. 

Izzy is the beautiful mom of our 70's group (Fez, Hyde, Red and Kelso), and she did a great job for being such a young mom & for being in circumstances where she (and many other dogs on the property) had to fend for themselves.  Those days are well behind Izzy, however.  Now it's her turn to find her forever home where she will be valued as a family member and given the love and care that every dog deserves. 

In terms of personality, Izzy is active and loves the backyard and racing with her foster siblings. And speaking of active, she does well on walks and is still gaining confidence each day with all the new sights and sounds. There are times when she would also like to be the lead dog, but she settles in and goes right back to playing with everyone and hanging out with her canine buddies.  With that being said, being her human's “number one” is a dream for her, and if you could just throw in some toys, it would be heaven! 

Izzy is crate trained and potty trained and will be spayed shortly (by our vet in NC prior to her journey north to us) -- no more babies for this beautiful girl. Now it’s time for her to enjoy the life of being a young dog and having a family who will love her forever.

To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email to commence the review process. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450 applies.

YOU CANNOT MEET IZZY UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to go to the foster home to complete the adoption (in the Schoharie/Albany County area).
