Dottie is a positively darling, sweet little doxie who came to us all the way from a rural shelter in Bamberg, SC.  We believe there is another breed in the mix, but she looks very predominantly dachshund. 

This delightful young lady (whom we estimate to be between 1 and 2 years old) was dumped in the shelter along with her 5 babies -- the "Hotdog Hounds" (also available for adoption on our website).  Now that her babies are in foster care and will be finding loving forever homes, it's Dottie's turn to find a great family of her very own where she will be loved and cherished and never discarded again.

Dottie's foster parents tell us that she is a wonderful dog -- happy, playful, affectionate, fun, and easy going.  She loves to play, including fetch!  But she also settles down very nicely & will curl up right under your chair.  She does well in a crate too and is housebroken.  Dottie very much loves to be close to her people, enjoys being petted, loves to ride in the car, enjoys play time, and is an overall sweetie pie.  She also gently takes treats & has no food aggression... And, last but not least,  Dottie also already knows some basic commands (like stay and sit).  Dottie is a wonderful dog, waiting for a wonderful family!

Once we have your completed application, a volunteer will be in touch to work with you through the review process.  Our review process is very straightforward, but does involve a phone interview, reference checks, & a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $300 also applies.
