Molly
The "M" Puppies got together to celebrate their 1st birthday together! Correct me if I'm wrong but, left to right, I think its Eden, Peanut, Cooper, Lily, & Molly. Check out their pics from the dog park here! http://share.shutterfly.com/share/received/album.sfly?sid=0AZNWrNi4buGzlI&startIndex=0&fid=e602e577eee1e90dd33ce936de451066
Mikala
Hi Cindy! Mikala is now spelled Mikayla. She is great! She is a very good and lovable dog. She really enjoys people and is gentle with all, but especially gentle with the elderly and children. It is nice to see. She has a lot of prey instincts in her so when she sees something move outside---especially animals she gets soo excited and wants to chase them. A couple times on our daily walk, she chased a deer out of the woods. It is not a perfect world and I would rather she stay close, but every once in awhile she cannot seem to do this. It is a funny scene as this 12 pound dog is bouncing behind a huge deer that just escaped the woods. Mikayla has some dog friends at the park and enjoys playing. Her best time is when we go in an open field and she runs and runs---She is super fast. Last year she got her license to be a therapy dog. I did not find big places the best for her to visit, but rather individual home visits.
In fact one woman if having a bad day will call me and ask if Mikayla can come for a visit. I love Mikayla very much---she is a good dog, a good companion, and a good friend. I am grateful. I will send you a picture when I figure out how to send it on the computer. I hope you are well and your dog rescue mission is going well. I thank you on behalf of all the dogs. Sue
Micha
Hi Cindy,
Sharon mentioned that you may want to put up a little update on our puppies on the Safe At Last website. So here you go! And a picture too!
Cooper (aka Micha) has been our spoiled little pup from day one. He has us wrapped around his paw and it's been that way since he came to live with us in January at about 9 weeks old. He was so tiny and cute then, just about 5 pounds. He's since grown into a beautiful 32 lb, active 7-month-old. He has learned so much in the last 5 months with us and has done fairly well in some beginner training classes. He is able to sit, lay down, stay, and walks well on a loose leash. He joined a family of 3 cats, 2 females and one male. Although he would LOVE to play with them, they still aren't so keen on playing with him. So to get his energy out, he goes to daycare during the week. He is so social and playful! He loves playing with all the other dogs and has taken a particular liking to playing with dogs at least twice his size! We're still trying to figure out exactly what mixture of breeds Cooper is, but at this point we think his mom was a Puggle and his dad was a black Lab. No matter what the mixture though, Cooper is undeniably cute and we love him! We couldn't have asked for a better first pup for our family!
