Tuscarora ("Aurora")
We've gotten wonderful updates on Aurora, now Daisy. We hear she has settled in to her new home incredibly well, is a good girl, and is much loved by her new family. Her new dad drives her around everywhere -- he is said to be "driving Miss Daisy"!!
We thank you for giving this wonderful puppy a wonderful life.
Yona
Little Yona, now Mocha, had had a serious accident while in foster care. She had been running and playing and was having a great time, but she jumped and rammed into a flower bed and severely fractured her elbow. She needed very tricky, expensive specialty surgery to fix her leg, which of course we got done for her... And then she needed to be in confinement and kept quiet for her 6-8 week recovery period. Well, despite all of this, one of our approved adopters wanted to meet this little girl. Yona was one of my fosters, and I told them what a wonderful disposition she had... a once in a lifetime type of pup... And this lovely family met my beautiful girl and fell in love with her.. And they wanted to adopt her, even though there is extra work and care involved. So, after Mocha's stitches came out, she went to this wonderful family.
And, here is a recent report on how sweet Mocha is doing.
Hi Cindy,
. . . The vet wants to re x-ray on Dec. 18th ...
She is doing so well. I could not have asked for a better puppy; we LOVE
having this little girl with us. She has grown quite a bit in the past 2
weeks and is getting quite strong. She is very comfortable on her four
legs--not favoring at all. We continue to keep her in confinement or on the
leash. I have been training her some; she is so quick and eager to please.
I will start working with a dog trainer next week (do you know Kathy
Stevens?) When I described Mocha's temperament to her she asked if I might
be interested in doing therapy work with her. This is the PERFECT dog for
that, so therapy might be in her future.
I'll let you know how the training and vet follow-up goes.
All the best,
Rebecca
Mochican
Hi Ladies,
I have been meaning to send you an update on your friend Mo (now known as Louie). He is the most amazing boy ever. I can't believe how he's fit
right into our family. His grandmother from Illinois came for two weeks to
visit and meet him for the holidays. She wanted to take him home with her
today!
Louie and I have been taking class together on Monday nights - of course he is the smartest boy in the class. He loves all the other dogs and the kids
too.
He will have the last of his puppy shots the week after next. At his visit
to the vet last week - he was up to 33 lbs!
I hope that you both are well. Again, thank you for bringing Louie to New
York.
Happy Holidays.
Lori
Gisa
December 2015: Update on Augie/formerly our Gisa: Dear Cindy,
Just wanted to wish you a very happy holiday & update you on Augie.
She is just amazing and we love her so much. She is so much fun and has
endless energy.
We will be signing up for obedience training in the near
future.........think we both will benefit.
She definitely is very strong willed and is deaf at
times....lol..........has a mind of her own.
She is easily bribed with treats. She loves her sisters. She owns all the
toys in the house but is willing to share. If her sisters (Sydney & Tanner)
have something she wants, she will cry, howl, roll over on them, & simply
wear them down until they give her what she wants. It is quite comical for
Terri & I but somewhat annoying for her sisters. We start each day with a
1 mile or so run in the farm field and sometimes the woods. She is never
without Terri or I for more than 4 - 5 hours and that is only 1 or 2 times
per week.
We did have her spay & decided to not apply for the $35.00 refund. Please
keep it for others in need.
Hope all is well with you..
Best regards!!!!
Kim, Terri, Sydney, Tanner, Augie, Callie, & Ellie

Update on Augie/formerly Gisa: Thought you might like a picture of the little one. She is doing great. Tanner is showing her the ropes. Augie just got her final booster of the series.
She is slated for spay September 10.

Cindy-
Augie (formerly Gisa) is wonderful and we all love her to pieces !!! She is having a blast running in the woods and swimming in her little pool. She adores Montana (Tanner) & Sydney and she is so interested in the cats. We are still working on potty training and manners. She has done a wonderful job in all areas; especially helping with the broken heart of losing our Daisy.
More updates to follow.

Hi Cindy,
I hope you're doing well. I miss you a lot, but I really like my new home and parents... I love getting cozy on the bed. I sleep in between mommy's and daddy's feet at night. Then when they move, I attack their feet and wake them up... I am finally brave enough to get on the couch to look outside, except when the garbage truck comes; then, it's back to the closet.
But, at night, I like to relax and play with my parents. I really love it here. They feed me lots of treats and mommy has gotten me lots of toys and we play a lot. Sometimes mommy calls me a weasel because I am always looking for trouble.
I hope you are doing well and taking good care of my friend. Thank you for letting me come to live here. I get cuddles and love all the time.
I love you,
Tilly
