Thank you for checking in! Oliver is doing so well. We just love him. He is so comfortable with our home and family. We have his first vet appointment on Wednesday. I will keep you posted:). Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Desmond

Hi Cindy and Jodi, I want to thank you heartily for helping me bring little Turnip into my family - what a sweet thing he is! I'm attaching some photos of his first day here. He seems to like his new home and his new brother and sisters (he is still warming up to Twiggy but she's a lot to handle for such a tiny little guy...). My brother, who is my roommate, actually also just adopted a kitten and brought it home this morning! Her name is Cleo, and she and Turnip are already best friends it seems. Between the excellent help provided by Cindy and all of the sweet fosters Jodi is housing - even some forever fosters! - I've been thinking about how I'd love to help Safe at Last in any way I can. I'm not sure what that looks like, but if there's ever anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask! Again, thank you so much, and I hope you both had a lovely holiday. Best, Nicole & Turnip & Sophie & Howl &Twiggy & Cleo P.S. How many cats until you're considered a cat lady? I have to be pushing it right?

CHILI

Hi Sara, Since a little someone is asleep in my lap I thought I'd send a quick update on my little darling. Lily continues to meld into our family. It's getting hard to remember life without her now. Her potty training is progressing nicely, accidents are becoming way less frequently. I snowblowed a big area where she liked to do her business and although she still doesn't give much warning, now that she's gotten in a routine it is much easier to anticipate when she needs to go out. And when she does go out she usually pees right away now. Of course she gets two treats when she goes and she loves treats. No interest in using in puppy pads but that's OK I'd just as soon she just go outside. Regarding the Vet, Guilderland accepted her as a patient, but I couldn't get her in until February. So I called your the place your cousin works in Mechanicville and explained my situation and we have an appointment this coming Monday. All in all I am quite pleased with her progress and love her dearly. I am going to get her more robust things to chew on today as she can destroy a squeaky toy in a matter of minutes. She's very smart and will use her front paws to hold her "prey" while she rips it apart. The only toy she's not able to destroy so far is the broccoli toy I had when we picked her up. I hope all is well and wish you the best of luck with your future fosters. Your first one was a resounding success. Tony

Alfredo

Here is our Alfredo getting ready for his ride to his new, amazing, wonderful forever home!! Here is what mom Abby had to say about their first night together: "We had a great first night! He is SUCH a good boy! We're headed to some trails for a walk now, but just wanted to let you know that he's doing great."

Jo

Josie is a spitfire but keeps us moving! We are no longer couch potatoes! Her passion is a ball and her yard that has plenty of room to play. Neighbors loved her so much...they adopted a Covid pup too who is now her best puppy friend. We're still working on being friends with our kitty who isn't afraid of her...just too much puppy energy right now but we're learning impulse control ... sorta. She's a definite joy!
